Hi, everyone.

Here is :iconsilver-eyes-blue:, updating instead of :iconsailorangel: who we haven't heard from in a while, sadly. Here are the judges' marks for this round (minus Angel's, as we didn't get hers).

Our celebrity judge for this round was :iconpsyconorikan:.

1. by :iconguiltytestament:

:iconpsyconorikan: - Just an awesome job here! I love the way it's drawn. It's very well done. The coloring is nice too but I think it should have some more darker colors added to it. Especially in the clothes area. It kind of seems like the colors blend together a little too closely.
Points: 7.5/10

:iconradiant-suzuka: - How romantic! I didn't think you had it in you XD A lovely piece, your style is very unique and fading the outlines of the characters has added a nice touch. Love the subtle use of texture in the background.
Points: 9/10

:iconsilver-eyes-blue: - While this entry is not bad, it is not quite as good as your previous one. I would have liked some more contrast in it. The captured moment and the light spots are wonderful. I am not so sure about the light greyish outlines of their clothes. I really think some more contrast would have been good. But I like the romantic atmosphere in it and the kiss. :)
Points: 7.5/10

:iconpinkpigtails: - I like the internal theme you did for the "blue" theme. Normally when I think of romance I think of heat, reds and pinks, but the cool blue almost gives there kiss a sad quality. It looks like maybe they are spirits who can finally be together, and I feel a lot of emotion coming through. The use of photoshop again is very well done, you have vastly improved you skills from the first drawing and I'm proud of you! Very good job!
Points: 9/10

:iconsailorangel: I love the emotion and the expressions on your lovers - you've really captured the moment with this. It's been said about the contrast and the subtle shading gives them an almost transparent feel - like I'm looking at them through smokey glass or something, actually I think what would have finished off this picture just a tiny bit more would be some rain - I know it's a bit cliche but I think it would have made the look and feel that much better plus put them in a more realistic environment instead of just floaty light bubbles - try to keep the environment in mind for your subjects - especially if you want to tell a bit of a story with just a single picture. Still, your anatomy has greatly improved and I love your use of blues in a bit of a different manner.
8.5/10

Total score: 41.5/50

2. by :iconangeldess:

:iconpsyconorikan: - Awesome coloring on this picture. I love the details on the frog and flower as well. The contrast i also nice here. The black in the BG should be a tad darker I think though. It's a bit distracting.
Points: 6.5/10

:iconradiant-suzuka: - Such a cute frog! XD A good use of research into this themes round and lovely shading. The use of the dark blue to highlight the frog and flower is also a nice touch. Well done :)
Points: 8/10

:iconsilver-eyes-blue: - I like the shades of blue used in this one. They look very lively. What I found especially interesting was that the plant drawn as well as the frog actually exist.
What I do not find so great is simply the lack of details. It is – in my opinion – too simple for this round of the contest, where we are already coming close to the very end. I hope to see something more detailed and complex the next round.
Points: 7/10

:iconpinkpigtails: - Very interesting. I wouldn't have ever thought of that myself, but I really like it. The frog is very well drawn, and even though you used so many different blues, it's very subtle and doesn't crowd the image. I know exactly where to look and my eye isn't overwhelmed. Very good job!
Points: 9/10

:iconsailorangel: I really like the originality of this piece - especially that they both actually exist in the real world - if you used references I would have like to see you link them and also I wish the image was a bit larger - I like to sink my self in the details, but other than that excellent job, I can see all the blues used and the highlighting/shading is lovely. Well done!

8/10

Total score: 38.5/50

3. by :iconelila:

:iconpsyconorikan: - Very nice piece and I love the color scheme. The hair is very elegant looking as well. I think the contrast in this piece should be a bit lowered though. It's a bit saturated.
Points: 6.5/10

:iconradiant-suzuka: - I have to say that I was very surprised by this piece. Although your colouring could use a lot of work you have improved greatly from the beginning of this competition. The mermaids face a body are proportionate and the composition of the image is gorgeous. You deserve every mark for this one :)
Points: 9.5/10

:iconsilver-eyes-blue: - I really like the concept of this one, and the contrast between the mermaid’s mood and the color used. Her face is absolutely gorgeous, and the pearls add the much needed contrast. The water could use some work, but I know painting water is really difficult.
I would have used some softer lines or line colors for her breasts and her gills, as I already mentioned in my comment to you. Similar to what *ladylionink used to do in her works. Softer lines in the hair might also be a good idea.
But the pose choice and the overall look of it is definitely an improvement compared to the last round.
Points: 8.5/10

:iconpinkpigtails: - Not one of your best but still very nice. The drawing is creative and the proportions are very well done. I just find all together it's to dark, and everything seems to blend to much together. If you had some stronger shadows from the moon that would help. Very nice.
Points: 7/10

:iconsailorangel: I was overjoyed to see the anatomy, movement and expression on this piece - you kept pushing your boundries and it has paid off!! Now a few things to keep in mind for this next round - textures - remember that light reflects differently on hair, skin/wet skin, wet scales, water ect. Also, play around with thinning or getting rid of some of your outlines - the moon does not need an outline infact a soft glow would be best - same with the pearls - especially the ones in the air the outlines are so thick it makes it cartoony and less real. I was a little disappointed to see a reaccurance of themes - you've used water/ice/night time scenes quite a lot in your entries and I was hoping for something different - keep that in mind for next round.

4. by :iconjldragonfly:

:iconpsyconorikan: - This one is very nice! I love the details in the coloring and the drawing itself. However, I believe the shading could be darker in some areas. Overall very nice though.
Points: 7/10

:iconradiant-suzuka: - This has to be one of your best works yet. The amount of detail is lovely and the rose is a nice touch. Not much else to say but good work :)
Points: 8.5/10

:iconsilver-eyes-blue: - Really nice. I love the amount of detail. The rose turned out really well. What slightly bugs me is that the woman’s lips are really asymmetrical. I know this might make her look more natural, but with all the scales (I imagine those are scales) surrounding them, it looks a bit odd. The shading in the piece is well done, and looks especially awesome in the small view. You did a good job on the hair, too. Good job!
Points: 9.5/10

:iconpinkpigtails: - Very nice drawing, the technical handling of the medium is very well done, as well as the proportions. The reason my mark is a little lower is the fact that even though the drawing is technically stunning, I dont find it very interesting. There is almost to much going on in it that I don't know where to look and I find I'm missing the big picture. But none the less, good job.
Points: 7/10

:iconsailorangel: I'm glad you chose this as your entry for this round. I liked it from the minute I saw it (I have a thing for roses too XD) - it's been said, the detail is stunning - a couple of things that jumped out at me- the horns across her brow are looking a little flat mostly because you haven't had them cast any shadow on her face/skin, broadening out from that I was trying to determine your light source(s) and you seem to have lit her from all directions nearly - try to keep in mind a definate light source so that the shading for everything lines up with that. The hair and eyes and rose are especially well done. I really like this piece!!
Points: 9/10

Total score: 41/50

The score overview for this round:
:iconguiltytestament: - 41.5/50
:iconjldragonfly: - 41/50
:iconangeldess: - 38.5/50
:iconelila: - 38.5/50

Is there a rating that we're trying to keep things to? I only ask as most of my recent work has been somewhat risque (shirtless...) to some...
